Since 1996, we’ve been engaged with engineering, design and certification challenges for aviators and equipment manufacturers around the globe. Our team is led by three long-time aviation experts, with a deep understanding of what it takes to efficiently produce cost-effective engineering, design and certification solutions.

ROBERT (BOB) GOW, President

ROBERT (BOB) GOW, President

With more than 40 years in the aviation industry, Bob Gow brings a wealth of deep expertise to the ADS client base. After graduating from Centennial College in the 1970s he worked with, Rockwell Collins, in the final test section of the 618T HF radio production line. Following that, Bob expanded his skill-set through variety of roles including: metrology, automation, teaching, Part 25 maintenance and installation, and of course, certification. Starting his certification career in the early 1990s on special mission aircraft, Bob was one of the first to certify TCAS in Canada. Working at Bombardier on the Global Express design, he was responsible for data acquisition and avionics simulations.

Recognizing the need for dedicated engineering, design and certification services for the Canadian aviation market, Bob founded ADS in 1996. Since then, he has been deeply involved in certification and design programs for everything from interior completions to wheelchair lifts, to TSO certification of new avionics, to glass cockpits to special missions suites.

CATALIN VOICU, P.Eng., Vice President, Engineering and DAO Manager

CATALIN VOICU, P.Eng., Vice President, Engineering and DAO Manager

Catalin Voicu is a licensed professional engineer with close to 40 years of experience in the aviation industry. He joined ADS in 2001 as a project engineer and worked on most of the company’s national and international projects.

After graduating in the mid-1980s from the Faculty of Aerospace at the Polytechnic Institute, Bucharest, he joined Romanian helicopter manufacturer IAR Brasov as a design and product engineer in the electrical and avionics department. Excelling for more than 15 years at the company, Catalin ultimately took on the program quality manager position being deeply involved in a comprehensive retrofit of Military Puma helicopters. Developing the quality process plan, verifying, witnessing and accepting all equipment qualification and system certification tests of equipment manufacturer Elbit, Israel, he successfully delivered the prototype and first two helicopters to the Romanian Air Force.

After graduating from the TCCA certification course in 2006, Catalin became a delegate of the newly approved ADS DAO. Since then, he has helped expand the company’s international relationships, particularly with EASA. He became a compliance verification expert for an EASA DOA and conducted ADS standalone approvals with other foreign civil aviation authorities. In 2010 he became the Vice President, Engineering and since March 2021 he is the DAO Manager.

INDERJIT PANESAR, Design Manager

INDERJIT PANESAR, Design Manager

With close to 30 years in the aviation industry, Inder Panesar has a wealth of avionics integration and certification experience on all types of aircraft. After graduating from BCIT with honors in the mid-1990s, Inder started his career as an avionics installation and line technician serving the general aviation, regional airline, cargo transport and rotorcraft sectors. In the early 2000s he transitioned to the business aviation and regional jet sector. With extensive in-depth training and broad range of experience, Inder was instrumental in establishing the avionics department of a British Columbia, Canada-based MRO company. As he excelled, so did the MRO’s business, which became an authorized service center for Hawker, Bombardier, Learjet and Gulfstream corporate jets. The design and integration of major avionics and cabin system retrofits on all types of corporate aircraft became a daily part of Inder’s life.

Joining ADS in 2009 as an avionics systems designer, Inder progressed to serve as a senior certification specialist and is currently the company’s design manager. Over the course of his career in aviation, Inder has developed skills and technical expertise that are well respected by his peers. This has allowed him to play a key role in the design and certification of many glass cockpit, communications, navigation and special missions upgrades that the ADS team has performed.
