The Challenge
A complete overhaul of the flight deck to allow the operator to fly in the Antarctic, operating in True.
Our Approach
This might seem like a typical glass cockpit upgrade, but we worked with the operator to understand their requirements. We engineered and certified a solution that included a whole new raft of components that would help this operator accomplish their mission.
The Solution
The solution includes a Universal avionics EFIS (Electronic Flight Instrument System and FMS (Flight Management Systems) and Litef AHRS (Altitude and Heading Reference System), plus synthetic vision and EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) applications.
The Result
The usable life span of the aircraft is extended exponentially. More important, the aircraft operator can fly critical missions in the Antarctic with enhanced situational awareness and safety in extremely harsh conditions.
